Indian Premier League started by BCCI against ICL of ZEE group managed to muster the support of the karorepathys of the nation. It is certainly proved to be the financial success of BCCI and its marketing ability.
Obviously,the players are available for money.Earlier ,when the 20/20 world cup held , the big 3 players were not accomodated in the team saying it is for young guns.But ,they are now available for the same format of IPL.
If one has to answer why he is watching the game of cricket, the answer will be he wants to see the Indian team winning.Many of us dont watch cricket if one of the teams is not India.
In IPL format, no such interests will be there. Why should I cheer up for Dhoni's Chennai team when my favourite Sachin is playing for Mumbai and Dravid for Bangalore.
So this is not going to be the real cricket.There will be only Glamour, Showmanships, Match Fixing and scandals to suck the money from the viewers.
