A stream taking its rise on the Kolar Hill. The stream which originates among the rock is led by a drain into a small tank, about 3 feet deep, from which another drain leads is through the mouth of a bull to a larger tank about
30 *35' below. From there, the water flows down towards Kilukote. Above the bull's head is a brindavana and on its top of vimana of brick and mortar, belonging to the palegar days. In the center of the lower tanks stands a small mantapa with an image of Ganapathi in it. Before the water issues out of the bulls mouth. It is made to wash the feet of a standing image of Vishnu in the form of Venkatesh.
At the foot of the Kolar hill, there are the ruins of an old town. In it's very old granite. Temple of Nilaknateshwara.
The range extends along the northeast of the town of Kolar, The highest point being 4,026 feet above the sea level. The hill presents a barren and rocky appearance on all sides. However, on top is an extensive plateau occupied by villages and irrigated fields. A stream on the east side, named "Antara"Gange is esteemed sacred.
